Our Crew on your skippered sailing charter
Lady
Liv’s crew, Bob and Marion, will be your hosts during your
stay onboard and are there to ensure your holiday is one to remember!
They are widely travelled and have sailed for many years before
packing up their hectic lives running their own businesses in the
land locked home-counties of England, in order to change their lifestyle
and pursue their passion for the outdoor life.
In fact, in August 2007 they left the UK and sailed Lady Liv through
the Mediterranean via Gibraltar and the Canaries, across the
Atlantic to the West Indies and spent almost a year exploring new
countries and islands, building up a vast amount of experience and
knowledge to enhance your holiday aboard with us.
Bob
Heffron is the owner and skipper of Lady Liv. Bob is an accomplished
and experienced RYA skipper with extensive sailing experience spanning
20 years. He has covered over 22,000 nautical miles in a range of
waters including the Mediterranean, Aegean, Adriatic, and Caribbean
Seas and the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Bob has also delivered
yachts to many destinations.
As well as his love of sailing, Bob is a PADI certified diver,
and can show you the best diving, snorkelling and fishing spots
on your holiday.
Bob’s primary job will be to sail the yacht. Guests can participate
in the sailing as much or as little as they like; Bob will be more
than happy to show you the ropes and can provide informal tuition
as required, or you can take the opportunity to completely relax,
take it easy and let your skipper take the helm and sail the boat
unaided whilst you enjoy the beauty of your surroundings.
Above all, Bob is responsible for your safety during your stay
onboard and is certificated in Sea Survival and First Aid at Sea.
Marion
Mason is First Mate and Hostess aboard Lady Liv. Combining her love
for sailing, the outdoor life and entertaining, Marion’s role
onboard is to make sure that everything aboard Lady Liv runs
smoothly both above and below decks ! She is an experienced and accomplished
cook, creating a wide and exciting variety of dishes to tantalise
the tastebuds, and is also in charge of the bar ! This
season, our guests will be involved with provisioning and preparing
food for the meals that are taken on board, so that they can enjoy
the wide variety of local produce available, yet be free to choose
whether to take meals ashore, or on board the yacht.
Marion will guide and advise and be the driving force in the galley,
when necessary.
With the experience gained in the past year in the
Caribbean, we can not only advise on the best bars and restaurants
in our chosen anchorages, but also where to find the best provisions
for meals aboard.
Marion is also a qualified RYA skipper, and along with Bob is trained
in Sea Survival and Marine First Aid.
As your crew, Bob and Marion will help you to decide upon a suitable
itinerary for your holiday that enables you to realise your dreams
and make the most of your time onboard Lady Liv. You can call upon
their knowledge of local attractions, restaurants and the most sheltered
anchorages in order to visit the best places that your chosen destination
has to offer. |
